Rob Reiner, Michele Reiner's Time of Death: Update Revealed in Murder Case

Although Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner were found dead in their L.A. home on the afternoon of Dec. 14, the L.A. County District Attorney's Office believes they were murdered about 12 hours prior.

Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner likely died before dawn on Sunday morning.

The All in the Family actor and his photographer-producer wife were found dead around 3 p.m. on Dec. 14, but now authorities have shared new information on the timeline of when the couple was brutally killed.

Rob, 78, and Michele, 70, were murdered "in approximately the early morning hours of December 14," Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman said in a Dec. 16 press release.

Their son Nick Reiner is accused of "fatally stabbing" the pair in their Los Angeles home using "a dangerous and deadly weapon, a knife," according to the district attorney.

The 32-year-old fled the scene but was found and arrested in Exposition Park near the University of Southern California six hours after his parents' bodies were discovered, per officials.

Nick has since been charged with two counts of murder with the special circumstance allegation of multiple murders.

"If convicted as charged, Reiner faces death or life in state prison without the possibility of parole," Hochman said. "A decision on whether to seek the death penalty will be made at a later date."

The screenwriter has not yet entered a plea, but attorney Alan Jackson confirmed he is representing Nick in the case.
