Amy Schumer and Husband Chris Fischer Break Up After 7 Years of Marriage

Amy Schumer broke up with her husband Chris Fischer after seven years of marriage. The pair are parents to son Gene David Fischer, 6.

Amy Schumer and Chris Fischer's marriage has reached the end of the line.

The Trainwreck star and the chef, who are parents to 6-year-old son Gene, broke up seven years after their wedding.

"Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage," Amy shared in an Instagram statement Dec. 12. "We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son."

Sharing a photo of herself and Chris, 45, riding the subway together, the 44-year-old went on to shut down speculation of what went wrong.

"Not becisse I dropped some lbs and thought I could bag s basket," she quipped, "and not because he’s a hot Janlmes beard award winning chef who can still pull some hot tail."

Amy added, "Amicable and all love and respect! Family forever."

She shared the same sentiment earlier in December, when she seemingly confirmed her relationship with Chris was on the rocks. At the time, Amy said "whatever ends up happening" had "nothing to do" with her recent weight loss or his autism diagnosis.

"Fingers crossed we make it through he’s the best," the comedian wrote in a since-deleted Dec. 1 Instagram post, adding that the reason she was pictured without her wedding band was because she "never" wears jewelry.

In the same post, Amy clarified that the reason behind her 50-pound weight loss was "not to look hot," but to combat Cushing Syndrome, a hormonal disorder she was diagnosed with in 2024.
