Rob Reiner's Kids Romy and Jake Reiner Break Silence on Parents' "Horrific" Deaths
Romy Reiner and Jake Reiner broke their silence following the death of their parents Rob Reiner, 78, and Michele Reiner, 70. The couple were found dead in their Los Angeles home Dec. 14.
Romy Reiner and Jake Reiner are remembering their parents.
The daughter and son of Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner shared appreciation for the outpouring of support the family received after the couple were found dead in their Los Angeles home Dec. 14.
Rob and Michele’s 32-year-old son Nick Reiner has since been arrested and booked on suspicion of murder in connection to their deaths, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
"Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day," they said in a Dec. 17 statement obtained by NBC News. "The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience. They weren't just our parents; they were our best friends.
"We are grateful for the outpouring of condolences, kindness, and support we have received not only from family and friends but people from all walks of life," they added. "We now ask for respect and privacy, for speculation to be tempered with compassion and humanity, and for our parents to be remembered for the incredible lives they lived and the love they gave."
Previously, the family which includes Tracy Reiner, whom Rob adopted while married to late ex-wife Penny Marshall said in a statement that they were “heartbroken” by Rob and Michele’s deaths.
“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner,” they told Variety Dec. 14. “We ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time.”
